hmm, good idea! but that means i have to learn how to get the device to monitor usage over time. i know it does it, but i've never used that function.
off and hibernate would use the same amount of power. i would bet that, from a electricity usage standpoint, it would be better to use...
i'm using Win7 x64 RC to connect to Win7 x64 RC. I just tried turning off the firewall on both machines and i get the same error.
i've tried TightVNC and Ultra VNC before and don't remember why I didn't use them. guess it's time to try again...
~a while later...~
okay, TightVNC seems to...
i swore i asked this a long time ago and i can't find the thread and a search for "VNC" doesn't turn up anything.
since the free version of realvnc doesn't work on Win7, what's the best program to use? something leightweight and simple is good.
i would like to use the built-in remote desktop...
yeah, i got that far...
... but i would like to have the "ultimate" discs, both 32 and 64-bit, so i can install any version since i have both a home premium and professional key now.
well, i figured how to make a bootable ISO out of the files i DL'd when i purchased it... which basically seems to be the same thing you have linked. nice to have if i need the 32-bit version, though. thanks. will they work for retail and upgrade keys?
i have a legit home premium key that i bought through the student deal, but no disc. what's a good way to get a complete, virgin, safe 64-bit image? is it legal to do this or should i pay $13 to MS for them to send me one?
hm, okay. i started doing that last night anyway. i deleted as much as i didn't need and split the rest between 3 different computers.
what's weird is just a couple weeks ago i added a hd to my dad's comp and mirrored his existing system drive with no problems. i don't remember what options i...
okay, i have two identical drives that i want to set up in a raid 1 (mirror) array. one drive has lots of valuable data on it that i don't want to lose. the other drive is blank with no partitions set that i want the data to be backed up to. if i go into my raid bios and add them to an array, it...
so if you have the OEM version for a while then build a new comp and want to install it on it (no longer using the old install), will it be able to be activated? if it's possible with a quick call to MS, then why would someone get the upgrade version which costs more and hassles you with an old...
i want to upgrade my dad's comp and get him Windows 7 Home Premium when it comes out, but there are 3 versions. here is what (i think) i understand and what i'm not clear on;
OEM for System Builders ($110) - can only be installed on one configuration. a major hardware change will void it...
a blu-ray drive sends all the data (video and audio) down the SATA cable to the mobo. then the audio either gets sent to a digital audio out port to be sent to an external receiver and decoded, or to the sound card (onboard or PCI) which would decode it and output analog.
what connections does...
